Elohim(God) had told us that there would be a ruler in Israel whose origins “are from of old, from everlasting(Micah 5:2).” Scripture informs us that this mysterious ruler who is “from old, from everlasting,” is Yeshua (John/Yohannon 1:14) who qualifies to be the prophesied Messiah (For more information look at our teaching: “Genealogy of Yeshua”) whose origins go back to B’reisheet (John 1:1; Genesis 1:1).
Let's look at this chapter:
[Micah 5] (1) Now gather yourself in troops, O daughter of troops. He has laid siege against us. They will strike the judge of Yisrael with a rod on the cheek. (2) “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Yehudah, yet out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Yisrael, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.” (3) Therefore He shall give them up, until the time that she who is in labor has given birth. Then the remnant of His brethren shall return to the children of Yisrael. (4) And He shall stand and feed His flock in the strength of YHWH, in the majesty of the Name of YHWH, his God, and they shall abide, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth, (5a) and this One shall be peace.
[Note: The first part of this prophecy in Micah chapter 5 (verses 2 through 5(a)) speaks in a future tense of the coming of the Messiah, the one many recognize as being "Yeshua of Nazareth". The later part of the prophecy (Micah 5 verses 5(b) through 15) speaks of when the Assyrian(s) invade the Holy Land. Take note that the time of this second prophecy mentioned in Micah chapter 5 is marked as: “WHEN the Assyrian comes.” Prophecy is often fulfilled progressively, or, “part now,” and “part later” at a set time rather than everything in an instant, usually split into pieces by descriptions such as “when this happens…” The Scriptures were originally not split into chapters and verses, that was a helpful invention added later on. The first part of this prophecy gained fulfillment at the coming of the Messiah “whose goings forth are from old, from everlasting.”]
The 2nd segment of Micah chapter 5:
[Micah 5] (5b) When the Assyrian comes into our land, and when he treads in our palaces, then we will raise against him seven shepherds and eight princely men. (6) They shall waste with the sword the land of Assyria, and the land of Nimrod at its entrances. Thus He shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he comes into our land and when he treads within our borders. (7) Then the remnant of Ya’akov shall be in the midst of many peoples, like dew from YHWH, like showers on the grass that tarry for no man nor wait for the sons of men. (8) And the remnant of Ya’akov shall be among the Gentiles, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, who, if he passes through, both treads down and tears in pieces, and none can deliver. (9) Your hand shall be lifted against your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut off. (10) “And it shall be in that day,” says YHWH, “That I will cut off your horses from your midst and destroy your chariots. (11) I will cut off the cities of your land and throw down all your strongholds. (12) I will cut off sorceries from your hand, and you shall have no soothsayers. (13) Your carved images I will also cut off, and your sacred pillars from your midst. You shall no more worship the work of your hands. (14) I will pluck your wooden images from your midst; thus I will destroy your cities. (15) And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury on the nations that have not heard.”
If Yeshua was born in the first century, how is his origins from of old, from everlasting?
Yeshua according to the book of Yohannon(John) is the Word/Manifestation that God used to create all things, who went before Israel in the wilderness, a messenger(Malakh) who manifested in a body, a Being whose origins are “from old, from everlasting,” whose God is YHWH (Micah 5:4), who is also the Arm of (Isaiah 53:1)/a part of YHWH Himself. There is no God other than YHWH.
[Yohannon/John 1] (1) In the beginning was the Miltha(Word/Manifestation), and the Miltha(Word/Manifestation) was with God, and the Miltha(Word/Manifestation) was God. (2) He was in the beginning with God. (3) All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. (4) In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. (5) And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. [Genesis 1:1] In the beginning God(Elohim) created the heavens and the earth.
Miltha(Aramaic) – can mean “Word,” “Manifestation,” “Instance,” or “Substance.”
[Yohannon/John 1] (6) There was a man sent from God, whose name was Yohannon. (7) This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. (8) He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. (9) That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world. (10) He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. (11) He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. (12) But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: (13) who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (14) And the Miltha(Word/Manifestation) became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (15) Yohannon bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me.’” (16) And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. (17) For the Torah was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Messiah Yeshua.
[1 Corinthians 10] (1) Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, (2) all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, (3) all ate the same spiritual food, (4) and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Messiah. (5) But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness.
[Matthew 21] (33) “Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country. (34) Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit. (35) And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another. (36) Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them. (37) Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’ (38) But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’ (39) So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. (40) “Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”(41) They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”(42) Yeshua said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’? (43) “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. (44) And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.” (45) Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them. (46) But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet.
[Isaiah 53:1 ] Who has believed our report? And to whom has the Arm of YHWH been revealed?
